The Children’s Day event, “Party with Zhong Bao Bao”, held at POPULAR Bras Basah Complex brought smiles, games, and fun to children and families!

On 3 October, the “Party with Zhong Bao Bao” celebration was held at our flagship store, POPULAR Bras Basah Complex, to celebrate Children’s Day! The event was packed with fun and lively activities that delighted children and their families.
The event kicked off with a series of fun and engaging games that challenged the participants’ balance and coordination. One popular challenge involved balancing a ball on a wooden board full of holes, a task that required both laser-sharp focus and fine motor control to keep the ball from slipping through. It was one of many games that got both children and adults having fun and cheering each other on!
Next came quiz time, where our young participants showed off their quick thinking and surprising knowledge. With the Formula 1 racing weekend coming up at that time, the “Guess That Car” quiz segment had the children identifying Formula 1 car teams from just a single image of the car. To everyone’s surprise, many of the kids turned out to be even more knowledgeable than the adults and arrived at the answers with impressive speed, proving that enthusiasm and curiosity is always a winning combination for acquiring knowledge of any kind.
Of course, the highlight of the day was the moment everyone had been waiting for — the meet-and-greet with our paw-sitively adorable resident red panda, Zhong Bao Bao! The children were thrilled to meet the character in person, as they proudly donned their Zhong Bao Bao-themed party crowns. The smiles, laughter, and hugs made for plenty of heartwarming camera-worthy moments. We definitely captured many moments of pure happiness that day.
The children also got to explore two exciting activity booths designed to bring out their creativity and dexterity. At the game booth, participants played a game where they carefully pulled a paper cup attached to a string to the designated finish line, all while balancing a small ping pong ball atop the cup. The challenge truly put their patience and fine motor skills to the test, but the sense of accomplishment at the end was well worth it!
Meanwhile, the craft booth was a clear crowd favourite. Here, kids had the opportunity to create their very own keychains by choosing up to four iron-on patches, combining different designs to express their personality and imagination. They were truly spoilt for choice with a wide variety of patch designs to pick from, such as letters, popular cartoon characters, animals, food, flowers, symbols, catchphrases, and more! It was a joy watching their creativity come to life, and everyone left with a unique keepsake to remember the day.
To round it off, every child also received an exclusive goodie bag filled with exciting surprises such as a Powerpuff Girls eraser, PAW Patrol luggage tag, Zhong Bao Bao-themed temporary tattoo sheets, stationery, and more. Each bag also included a $5 discount voucher for their next visit to POPULAR Bookstore within the month, giving them the perfect reason to come back for more fun and learning!
