The must-read, bestselling guide to courageous leadership from Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart, Braving the Wilderness, and The Gifts of Imperfection.

“A practical and insightful guide to courageous leadership.” — Sheryl Sandberg
“The ultimate playbook for daring leadership.” — Scott Harrison

Leadership isn’t about titles, power, or status. True leaders recognize potential in people and ideas, nurture that potential, and hold themselves accountable for creating environments where courage thrives.

Over two decades of research, Brené Brown has explored the emotions that give our lives meaning. She found that leaders across startups, family businesses, non-profits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all face the same questions:

  • How can we cultivate braver, more daring leaders?

  • How do we embed courage into organizational culture?

Dare to Lead answers these questions with actionable strategies and real-world examples drawn from Brown’s research-based courage-building program. It shows that leaders:

  • Stay curious and ask the right questions rather than pretending to have all the answers

  • Share power instead of hoarding it, multiplying its impact

  • Lean into vulnerability when it’s necessary to do meaningful work

Written with Brown’s signature blend of research, storytelling, and honesty, this book equips anyone ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference, and lead with integrity.
