About the Author

Russell Lee is an iconic figure who has entertained generations of Singaporeans and Malaysians with his “The Almost Complete Collection of True Singapore Ghost Stories” series.

The well-loved, masked author keeps his identity a secret, and dons a mask and black outfit that covers every inch of his body in public.

Those who have met him say he is a gentle giant whose all-black outfit belies his warm and friendly manner.

He doesn’t say much about himself, preferring to let the books do all the talking for him.

Singaporeans don’t just treat him as another author. He is one of them, speaking their language, writing on their behalf. However, we do know he is Singaporean — “as Singaporean as the five stars and crescent moon”, is how Lee puts it.
