About the Author

Anne Frank was a Jewish teenager born in Germany who lived in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. She began writing her diary at the age of thirteen while hiding from persecution, never knowing it would become a global testament to courage and hope. After the war, her diary was published by her father, Otto Frank, and has since been translated into dozens of languages. Anne Frank’s words continue to educate and inspire readers around the world, making her one of the most significant voices of the twentieth century. She died in Bergen-Belsen, three months short of her sixteenth birthday.
