Synopsis

The Wish is a contemporary novel about a fifteen-year-old girl named Jesse who is battling terminal cancer. When she is offered the chance to have one final wish granted, she decides she wants to create a digital experience of her life so that her family and friends can remember her and relive their memories together. To help make this happen, she is paired with Alex, a lonely young video game designer. As they work together on the project, an unexpected friendship develops that changes both of their lives. The story focuses on hope, courage, family, and the meaningful connections people form even during the most difficult times. 

About the Author

Heather Morris is a New Zealand–born author who lives in Australia and is best known for her bestselling historical novel The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Her books often explore themes of resilience, love, and human connection, and many are inspired by real experiences and stories she encountered through her work and research.
