The Dinosaur Fossil World Tour Exhibition is coming to Plant Town! Bonk Choy, Wall-nut, Peashooter and Sunflower drop by the exhibition before the visiting hours, only to discover that the Troodon fossils have mysteriously disappeared.

To discover the truth behind the incident, the Plants follow the clues that they find and arrive at Zombie City. But they accidentally fall into the space-time tunnel and end up in the Late Cretaceous forest.

While they are there, the Plants are surprised to find out that the dinosaurs are brilliant, whereby they not only dig for gold but also open a bank. Mama Oviraptor tells the Plants that all of these started from the appearance of the dinosauroid.
