Terms of Use

Discount privileges are not valid for purchase of Gift Voucher, concessionaire merchandise and discounted or nett-priced items.

Discount privileges are applicable only upon presentation of your POPULAR Card/e-Card.

POPULAR Card/e-Card is strictly non-transferable.

APPLICATION MODE

Apply and receive your POPULAR e-Card instantly via credit card payment on POPULAR SG App.

A $5 fee applies if a physical card is required.

Apply at any POPULAR stores.

All payment made is strictly non-refundable.

RENEWAL

Upon receipt of the new POPULAR Card, your existing card will be deactivated.

In the event of payment discrepancies, adjustment will be made by extending or shortening the expiry date of the new POPULAR Card.

Membership renewal can only be done prior 2 months from the card expiry date.

Renewal fee is applicable to POPULAR Singapore Cardholders only.

PROCESSING OF MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

Incomplete applications (e.g missing mandatory information, etc) will not be processed.

Processing of the card will take 2 weeks.

DAMAGE OR LOSS / THEFT OF CARD AND REPLACEMENT

Please notify Membership Department immediately for damage or loss/theft of card. A replacement fee of $5 will be imposed and your lost/stolen/damaged card will be deactivated.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

POPULAR may use, collect, retain and/or disclose your personal information necessary to verify your identity, process your membership card, send out renewal reminders and analyse your consumption preferences.

Marketing Information

POPULAR will inform you of promotions, product launches and special events organised or co-organised by POPULAR via direct mails, emails, and text messages, based on the boxes you had ticked on the application form. Alternatively, you may subscribe by emailing to membership@popularworld.com.

Discretion

The discount privileges, terms and conditions may be amended, or terminated at the sole discretion of the company without prior notice.

POPULAR is entitled to suspend or terminate your right to use the POPULAR Card/e-Card at any time at our absolute discretion, without liability, notice or reason. POPULAR is also entitled to refuse any request for reissuance, renewal or replacement of the card should any of the conditions and privileges be abused.

20% Off Birthday Discount

Birthday promotion is valid for one-time use on the birthday month of POPULAR Member.

Birthday e-Voucher will be issued via POPULAR SG app, redeemable at all POPULAR stores.

Not valid for purchase on www.popular.com.sg.

Not valid for purchase of gift vouchers, membership, textbooks, Gadgets & IT products, Titbits, concessionaire counter merchandise, nett-priced and promotional item(s) designated by POPULAR.

Not valid with other discounts (vouchers and/or promotions).

No further extensions allowed due to non-usage during birthday month.

POPULAR reserves the right to amend any terms and conditions at its sole discretion without prior notice.

Partner Perks

Merchant reserves the right to amend / append / withdraw terms and conditions without prior notice.

Collection of personal data by Merchant for this promotion is strictly for their own business requirements. POPULAR is not responsible for the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Data by Merchant for this promotion.

POPULAR is not liable for any loss of personal data resulting from any provision of personal data by the individual to the merchant for the purpose of using their service or product.

POPULAR is not an agent of the merchant. Any dispute regarding the quality or service standard must be resolved directly with the respective merchants. POPULAR will not assume any liability or responsibility for the acts of the merchants or any defects in products or services offered in the promotion.

Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Membership & Eligibility

The POPULAR Membership Program is a loyalty program offered by POPULAR Book Co Pte Ltd ("POPULAR") to customers residing in Singapore. 

Membership to the Program is limited to individuals only and is limited to one account per individual. 

By submitting an application for Membership in the Program, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. Membership Tiers

The Program consists of two tiers: Member (fee applies) and Follower (free).

3. Member

Membership is available for purchase under 1-year and three 3-year plans, subject to applicable fees.

Upon expiry, if membership is not renewed, the account will automatically be converted to a Follower tier.

To enjoy Member privileges in-store, members must present either:

i.    A valid physical card; or
ii.   The QR code within the POPULAR SG App. Screenshots will not be accepted.

POPULAR reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend membership tiers, benefits, eligibility, or terminate the Program with reasonable notice via its website and/or email. Please check the website regularly for updates.

4. Follower

Application is free.

To enjoy Follower privileges in-store, one must show the QR code on the POPULAR SG App. Screen shot will not be accepted.

POPULAR may, in its sole discretion, alter, limit, or modify the Follower tier eligibility, privileges or any other features and/or may terminate the program at any time in its sole discretion, by giving reasonable notice on the website and/or by email. Please check the website regularly for updates.

5. Member Privileges – 10% off

Applicable for purchases in-stores and online. For online purchases, you must ensure that you are logged in to your account at the point of purchase to enjoy privileges.

Not valid for purchase of Gadgets & IT products, textbooks, gift vouchers, and nett-priced priced items.

Not valid for Membership application.

6. Member Privileges – 20% off Birthday Discount

Member will receive a one-time 20% birthday discount in the form of a coupon issued via the POPULAR SG App.

The birthday coupon:
i.    Is valid for in-store use only
ii.   Must be redeemed within the member’s birthday month
iii.   Is strictly non-transferable and non-extendable

The discount is not applicable to Gadgets & IT products, Textbooks, Gift vouchers, Nett-priced items and Membership application.

7. Member Privileges – Partner Perks

Member will enjoy offers at our merchant partners.

Valid POPULAR Card/e-Card must be presented in person for verifications and eligibility of the offer.

Merchant partners shall reserve it’s right to amend, alter and modify the terms and conditions stated herein without prior notice.

Collection of personal data by merchant partners for this promotion is strictly for their own business requirements. POPULAR is not responsible for the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Data by merchant partners for this promotion.

8. Application & Card Issuance

Follower application can made online or via POPULAR SG App.

Member application can be made online, via POPULAR SG App, or in-store.

Member tier:
o    A physical card is available upon request for an additional fee of SGD $5.
o    Delivery of the physical card will take approximately two (2) weeks.
o    Replacement of lost, damaged, or stolen cards will incur a fee of SGD $5 

9. Renewal 

Membership renewal is subject to applicable fees for one 1-year and 3-year plans.

Members may renew their membership up to two (2) months prior to the expiry date. 

10. Collection of Personal Data 

POPULAR may use, collect, retain and/or disclose your personal information necessary to verify your identity, process your membership card, send out renewal reminders and analyse your consumption preferences.

11. MARKETING INFORMATION

POPULAR may also use your personal data to send you marketing communications, including promotions, offers, and updates via SMS, email, and other channels, unless you have opted out of such communications.

You may withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe instructions in our messages or by contacting us.

12. Fees & Refund Policy

All membership fees paid are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable, regardless of usage or early termination.

13. Withdrawal & Termination

Members may withdraw from the Program at any time via POPULAR SG app or by contacting the Membership Department.

POPULAR reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if:
i.    There is misuse or abuse of privileges 
ii.    Fraudulent activity is detected 
iii.   These Terms & Conditions are breached
