About the Author

Simon Rickerty is a picture book author and illustrator.

He studied illustration at the Royal College of Art and graduated with a Masters Degree in Communication Art and Design.

Simon's first picture book Peas!, written by Andy Cullen, was shortlisted for the Booktrust Early Years Award.

Since then Simon has written and illustrated many more picture books for children.

He has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize with his own book Monkey Nut.

Simon illustrates the best-selling Ten Little picture book series written by Mike Brownlow, published by Orchard Books.

The Ten Little books have now been adapted for TV by BAFTA and Emmy award-winning studio Karrot Animation, commissioned by Sky Kids.
