Tomohito Oda is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating Komi Can’t Communicate, a series praised for its sensitive portrayal of social anxiety and human connection. Oda’s storytelling blends expressive artwork, subtle humor, and emotional warmth, allowing readers to connect deeply with the characters’ inner struggles. His work is widely recognized for presenting everyday interactions with empathy and charm, earning the series a devoted international readership.

He won the grand prize for World Worst One in the 70th Shogakukan New Comic Artist Awards in 2012. Oda’s series Digicon, about a tough high school girl who finds herself in control of an alien with plans for world domination, ran from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, Komi Can’t Communicate debuted as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Sunday and was picked up as a full series by the same magazine in 2016.
