The story centers on a group of fish living in a large pond who are very proud of their cleverness and beauty. 

• The Warning: A kind-hearted crocodile who lives nearby overhears two fishermen planning to return the next day with a large net to catch all the fish in the pond. He hurries to warn the fish, advising them to leave or hide.

• The Arrogance: Because of their overconfidence, the fish mock the crocodile's warning. They believe they are far too clever to ever be caught and laugh at the idea of being in danger.

• The Fate: The following morning, the fishermen arrive and cast a massive, strong net across the pond. With no way to escape, the arrogant fish find themselves trapped. Only then do they realize that their refusal to listen to good advice has led to their downfall
