“Binoculars – notebook – rope – camera…,” Jack murmurs to
himself while eagerly packing suitcases with Philip, Dina, and Lucy. A dream of
the children comes true: shared holidays with their great friend Bill, whose
life’s task it is to ensure that the laws are upheld.
They travel by motorboat to a group of islands far out in
the sea. There they camp, swim, dive, and observe the seabirds. But soon their
peaceful life is disturbed. Airplanes roar low over the island; motorboats with
suspicious men cruise along the coast. Bill gets himself into danger through
his own carelessness, but the children bravely help him out of trouble.
And so, from the holiday idyll emerges “The Sea of
Adventure.”
